UMAG, ISTRIA
Camping Stella Maris, Umag, GPS 45°27’13”N 13°31’17”E
Camping Stella Maris is situated in a beautiful location with great amenities. It has direct access to the beach and well-maintained facilities. This large resort site offers various accommodation options, which we enjoyed strolling around. On-site, there are bars, clubs, shops, and restaurants.
The town of Umag is just over a mile away and can be reached by foot. We enjoy walking or cycling through the campsite and along the water’s edge to the town as it offers a more interesting route and allows you to see more of the resort. A little tourist train runs along the water’s edge into town, too.
The cost is 21 euros per night with ACSI. This is the perfect place for those seeking an active holiday. You will find 16 tennis courts, handball and beach volleyball courts, and stunning beaches near the campsite. It is quiet at night. Also nearby is an adventure park and mini-golf.
The campground has everything you need: a pool, bar, bakery, and local vendors selling fruit and vegetables. The property is well-maintained, clean, and completely fenced and secure.

We have also stayed at Camping Amarin (GPS 45°6’32″N 13°37’1.1″E) on the other side of Rovinj. This site is lovely; they run a regular boat service into the town of Rovinj at a very reasonable cost. We were lucky to be there during the annual Salsa competition. They were dancing day and night, which was fun to watch. However, we preferred Camping Polari as we used to enjoy the cycle ride (8km) into Rovinj.
