After looking at the very large and expensive boats in the busy marina we walked along the Burlamacca canal and crossed the lifting bridge connecting the port to the other side. The fishermen come up this canal every morning with their daily catch where you can buy your fish fresh from the boats.

Bazzano, Italy

We booked out of the site Saturday morning and headed to Bazzano which was about a 30-minute drive away. We parked Rosie outside Julie’s house and she drove us to a really lovely restaurant in Castelvetro. What a lovely traditional Italian village.

Levanto & Cinque Terre , Italy

Levanto has one of the best beaches not only for swimming but also for surfing. The beach is sandy and long. This particular area is a favourite of surfers because the waves are some of the biggest in Italy and the water is clean. Levanto offers castles, public gardens, and incredible architecture. Historic churches ring their bells to signal the time of day.

Finale Ligure, Italy

Finale Ligure is known for its white sand beaches and its views. It is located directly adjacent to the Rock of Caprazoppa, a steep limestone mountain on the southwest, and much of the town extends uphill slopes. The boardwalk is lined with palm trees.

Our day in Cannes was great and we really enjoyed walking through the lovely narrow streets browsing the shops and looking at the lovely old buildings.

Arles, Six Fours Plages and Sanary s Mer, Southern France

We spent a few hours walking around and had lunch in the old city of Arles. During the 17th and 18th centuries, stately townhouses were built which are part of the charm of the old city, where dozens of buildings, some dating back 2000 years, are listed as Historical Monuments (Roman and Romanesque buildings are listed as Unesco World heritage monuments.

Tossa De Mar, Spain

What can I say about Tossa De Mar We love it and plan to come back and maybe stay in a hotel on the seafront. It’s got everything you could want. A bit of history with the castle ruins, lots of lovely shops and plenty of nice little Spanish bars and restaurants

Snowy Northern Spain – Our first motorhome trip

As we got onto the autoroute towards Pamplona the sleet turned to snow. Within 10-20 minutes it was really heavy and laying and within no time it was a foot deep. This was very scary as HGV’s were jackknifing and getting stuck.

We spent a few weeks trawling the internet, visiting various motorhome dealers in the area and we also visited the Caravan and Motorhome show at the NEC Birmingham to get a good idea of the sort of things we wanted in our Motorhome.
