Read MoreAfter looking at the very large and expensive boats in the busy marina we walked along the Burlamacca canal and crossed the lifting bridge connecting the port to the other side. The fishermen come up this canal every morning with their daily catch where you can buy your fish fresh from the boats.
Read MoreWe booked out of the site Saturday morning and headed to Bazzano which was about a 30-minute drive away. We parked Rosie outside Julie’s house and she drove us to a really lovely restaurant in Castelvetro. What a lovely traditional Italian village.

This particular area is a favourite of surfers because the waves are some of the biggest in Italy and the water is clean. Levanto offers castles, public gardens, and incredible architecture. Historic churches ring their bells to signal the time of day.
