Praia da Luz

Praia da Luz has a lovely sandy beach with spectacular views of the cliffs and rock formations. The colours of the rocks change as you look out at them throughout the day.

There are bars, cafes, restaurants, a couple of supermarkets and tourist shops.  It’s a small and quiet resort with a traffic-free promenade.

Lagos

We got a bus into Lagos a couple of days and enjoyed walking around the old walled town looking at the lovely old architecture, browsing around the many of the shops which are aimed at tourists and stopping off every now and then at the bars/restaurants for coffee and lunch.   It’s not particularly big and is easy to get around.

The main square is a really big area with a statue of Prince Henry on one side and an Old historic church on the other.

The waterfront is nice and there are plenty of seats where we sat in the sun and just watched the boats coming in and out.  There is a small market lining the waterfront selling clothes bags etc. but no food items.

Campsite

To visit this area we stayed at Turiscampo in Praia da Luz.  We would definitely recommend this campsite as its one of the best.   GPS:  N37° 6’5” W8° 43’56”
