Read MoreThe Chateau in Vizille is pretty impressive and houses the museum of the French Revolution. A bonus was that it was free admission, which makes a nice change. It is an interesting museum which is spread over several floors. Although it was all in French we enjoyed looking at the large-scale paintings evoking the era which followed the logical thread of the historical sequence of events.

Approximately seven million bulbs have been planted in the park laid out in displays amongst the beautiful cherry blossom trees, children’s play equipment, petting farm, windmill, maze, canals (large & small) and a serpentine lake – all landscaped which provided photogenic views.

Read MorePraia da Luz has a lovely sandy beach with spectacular views of the cliffs and rock formations. The colours of the rocks change as you look out at them throughout the day.
Read MoreThe large beach is excellent and stretches along the length of the town with a wide and walkable boardwalk lined with lots of restaurants and bars.
Read MoreWe loved the old quarter’s narrow winding streets which are full of bars and restaurants. This part of town is called Parte Vieja, which is a paradise for tapas lovers. The bars are filled with the most unbelievable gourmet snacks you can imagine.

Camogli is a small fishing village and tourist resort located on the west side of the peninsula of Portofino, on the Golfo Paradiso at the Riviera di Levante in the province of Genoa on the Italian Riviera.
Read MorePort Grimaud is a lovely little working port that is full of character and charm. It became derelict but in the last 50 years has been renovated.
Its like a mini Venice with canals, bridges, restaurants, bars ice cream shops and its pedestrian only. From here you could get a boat into St. Tropez.
Read MorePeniscola is a really pretty town which has a fortified harbour and a castle perched on a large ridge overlooking the sea. It is quite an impressive sight and can be seen from miles away. The castle was built by the Knights Templar in the 1200’s.
Read MoreA beautiful natural landscape, breathtaking beaches, a marina and great food. If you are feeling energetic you can hike to the top of the rock and experience breathtaking views in all directions. From the top on a clear day, you can see the island of Formentera and the cape of Santa Pola.
Read MoreThere were great off-road cycle lanes running alongside the beach in both directions one into Albufera National Park and the other direction straight into Valencia. There was also a bus stop right outside the entrance to the site which we used a couple of times to take the 20-minute journey into the Old Town and Arts & Sciences complex.
Read MoreBonterra Park campsite in Benicassim is one of our favourite destinations. I think we have probably visited 5 out of the 6 trips we have done so far and if we were to stay long-term at a site this would be one of them.
It’s brilliantly situated between the beach and town.
