Port Grimaud & St Tropez,

Port Grimaud is a lovely little working port that is full of character and charm. It became derelict but in the last 50 years has been renovated.

Its like a mini Venice with canals, bridges, restaurants, bars ice cream shops and its pedestrian only.  From here you could get a boat into St. Tropez.

Peniscola, Spain

Peniscola is a really pretty town which has a fortified harbour and a castle perched on a large ridge overlooking the sea. It is quite an impressive sight and can be seen from miles away.  The castle was built by the Knights Templar in the 1200’s.

Benidorm,

We were particularly looking forward to lunch at Levis Showboat as they do the most amazing salads.  I had camembert wrapped in sliced beef and Ray had sticky chilli beef.   They come in a crispy tortilla basket (so delicious, but so naughty).

A beautiful natural landscape, breathtaking beaches, a marina and great food. If you are feeling energetic you can hike to the top of the rock and experience breathtaking views in all directions.  From the top on a clear day, you can see the island of Formentera and the cape of Santa Pola.

Valencia

There were great off-road cycle lanes running alongside the beach in both directions one into Albufera National Park and the other direction straight into Valencia.  There was also a bus stop right outside the entrance to the site which we used a couple of times to take the 20-minute journey into the Old Town and Arts & Sciences complex.

Bonterra Park, Benicassim

Bonterra Park campsite in Benicassim is one of our favourite destinations. I think we have probably visited 5 out of the 6 trips we have done so far and if we were to stay long-term at a site this would be one of them.
It’s brilliantly situated between the beach and town.

Lake Bled, Slovenia

Lake Bled is so picturesque that I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it from all angles.  It’s a glistening emerald-green colour that is so crystal clear you can see all the fish swimming around at the bottom.  In the middle is a tiny island which is home to an enchanting little white church.

Colmar

The area of Petit Venice can’t really be compared to Venice as it is so small but it is very beautiful and pretty with colourful flowers everywhere. The beautiful brightly coloured buildings and flower boxes lining the canal and narrow stone streets are like something out of a fairytale.

Marina d’Or Resort Spain

The campsite was quite small but very cosy and intimate. We were provided with a timetable of events and took advantage of the “Specials’ on the menu several days. The Chicken Paella was really good and recommend it to anyone staying there.
